Honda Civic Hybrid First generation (2003-2005)
The first generation Honda Civic Hybrid was designed based on the platform of seventh generation Honda Civic models. The technical features in the vehicle include 1.3 liter overhead cam i-DSI internal combustion engine along with the VTEC cut off system that allows the 3-cylinders to stop the operation at the time of deceleration. As a result the friction loss is decreased and allows generation of more effective energy. This generates 85 horse power of energy at the rate of 5700 rotations per minute and torque of 87 lb ft at the speed of 3300 rotations per minute.

The magnetic assist motor in the vehicle offers 15 kilo watts of permanent energy and is used as a generator as well as to recharge the batteries. It is also included with the Nickel metal hydride batteries with the capacity of 6.0 Ah. The other features in the vehicle include low rolling resistance tires on the wheel made up of aluminum, electric power steering and regenerative braking system.
Second Generation (2006 –present)
The second generation Honda Civic Hybrid was launched in the year 2006 and is still under production till date. It comes with the 1.3 liter I4 SOHC gasoline engine and 156 volt 15 kilo watts transmission CVT electric engine. The vehicle has the wheel base of 106.3 inches. The length, width and the height of the vehicle are 4488 mm, 1753 mm and 1430 mm respectively.
The second generation Civic Hybrid has the fuel capacity of 12.4 US gallons. The car is related to the Honda Civic model.

The model is built on the eighth generation model of Honda Civic platform. The technical advancement in the vehicle include Integrated Motor Assist, 1.3 liter four cylinder single overhead cam engine that increases the power by 69 kilo watts at angular speed of 6000 rotations per minute.

According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency, the mileage of the vehicle is claimed to be 40 miles per gallon on the city streets and 45 miles per gallon on the highway roads. The engine used in the Civic Hybrid has won the International Engine of the Year award three times in a row from 2002 to 2004. It has also won the Car of the Year Award from the Motor Trend in the year 2006.
